Who We Are:
Tri-County Community Action Agency, Inc. (TCCAA) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated for over 50 years to making a positive difference in the lives of those experiencing hardships. The agency consists of multiple programs that are created to empower people in Halifax, Charlotte and Mecklenburg Counties of Southside Virginia. Through collaborative efforts, engaged staff and partnerships, Tri-County is able to further our mission to eliminate the violence of poverty through advocacy, empowerment and self-sufficiency.
What We Are Looking For:
The Finance Officer, under the direction of the Chief Financial Officer, is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the Agency’s financial operations, including grant administration, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting functions. The Finance Officer will perform accounting duties such as recording receipts and disbursement for financial transactions on the general ledger, generating financial reports on a timely basis and maintaining sound accounting records.
What You Will Do:
- Responsible for preparation of the Agency financial reports in a timely manner for funding agencies.
- Responsible for preparation and submission of payroll tax reports.
- Reviews payroll preparation and processing.
- Assists in preparing the Agency’s annual budget in coordination with CFO and CEO.
- Assists with Agency’s annual audit to ensure the audit is completed timely.
- Assist directors and managers with preparation of grant application and funding request.
- Participates in fiscal management training and related topics in order to maintain high standards in fiscal operations.
What We Are Seeking:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Accounting or Finance.
- Must have at least 2-4 years of accounting experience.
- Analytical thinking and ability to analyze data.
- Demonstrate knowledge of non-profit accounting and/or governmental accounting, preferred.
- Grant administration accounting experience preferred but not required.
- Must be able to prepare and analyze financial reports and communicate effectively with the public, funding sources, and other departments within the agency.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Must be able to pass criminal background checks.
